Bottle @ Brouwerij de Molen (volunteers gathering), thanks for sharing John & Petra! Pours a black colour with a beige head. Aroma's of gin spices, (pepper-) mint, after eight. Retronasal it's very minty, fruity, chocolate and a bit mossy. Flavour is moderate sweet, after eight, fruity. Medium bodied. Long finish. Interesting experiment, but not entirely convincing.

Appearance: Arrives pitch black with a one finger tan head; splashy lacing
Smell: Chocolate fudge, honey and a hint of gin
Taste: Chocolate fudge and honey with the gin barrel bringing its distinct flavors; while the barrel flavor builds into the finish, it maintains a supporting rather than dominant role
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with medium carbonation
Overall: While Olde Hickory's barrel treatment is on display here, with the juniper and gin flavors staying in check, you really need to like gin more than I to truly enjoy this beer
