12oz bottle poured into a tulip
A- pours brown in color with a one-finger foamy off-white head that reduces to a ring around the glass
S- aroma is rich and malty with caramel and plenty dark fruit aromas; raisin, date & fig. Undertones of oaky bourbon barrel
T- sweet, malty with plenty of caramel up front with some brown sugar. Mid-palate brings out dark fruit notes of raisin, date and a hint of black cherry. The finish brings out some oaky and peppery bourbon notes with more dark fruits and caramel on the linger
M- medium body with medium carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that turns into a creamy warming finish

Picked up a 12 oz bottle from the Appalachian Vintner 10-28-22 for $7.99. Bottled 1-5-22; consumed 4-11-22.
Beer poured a murky brown with a wispy off-white head that dissipated quickly.
Nose is very nice with notes of dark fruits and a hint of bourbon.
Taste is really well done as the larger malt base absorbsand displays the dark fruit adjuncts very nicely. Bourbon barrel lends a nice light touch of vanilla and a taste of bourbon and balances out the fruit sweetness expertly.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth.
Overall a very nice BA version of a Wee Heavy; the unusual touch of adding fruit to a BBA beer works very well!

Appearance: Pours toffee colored with a quickly fading head; minimal lacing
Smell: Toffee, raisin and date aromatics embraced by warming Bourbon tones
Taste: Toffee forward with the raisin and date flavors emerging; the mid-palate is enhanced by the Bourbon barrel and vanilla tones; just a hint of rose hip making an appearance in the finish
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with low carbonation
Overall: Another fine BA Wee Heavy from the Bourbon barrel masters at Olde Hickory
