Poured from a 12 oz bottle that I bought in North Carolina.
Medium to dark brown color in a slightly hazy beer. Almost no head, which is typical for a heavily aged barleywine like this. My bottle had a tiny bit of sediment in the bottom. Warm, inviting aromas of oak, raisins and aged sherry. The flavors are similar, with raisins, prunes, dark wheat dinner rolls, oak and alcoholic sherry. Thick body with moderate to high sweetness, but a dryer finish than expected. Light carbonation and very low hops bitterness, both expected for an English Barleywine. Warming alcohol without an overwhelming booziness.
This beer will not be for everyone, but those who enjoy thick, sweet, barleywines with barrel aging will like this one.

it pours brown with some clouding. It has an off white head with low head retention. It is quite chewy for the body. It is malty with toffee flavors. It is a bit sweet with orange notes and cherry. In addition there is a slight wine and wood element.

On tap at Olde Hickory Tap Room
A- pours brown in color with a one finger creamy khaki head that has great retention
S- charred malt and dark chocolate, licorice, brown sugar, caramel, white grape
T- sweet and malty with notes of caramel and brown sugar up front, followed by black licorice and chocolate. Mid-palate gives some light fruity vinous notes with some charred malt. The finish gives more charred malt with a fruity wine linger
M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a creamy mouthfeel that co tours into a velvety warming finish

Beautiful colored beer. Dark brown to back. With red and tan hues. Thin fizzy khaki head. The aroma is kind of all over the place. It smells good, but I just can’t place it. Brown sugar, alcohol. It’s much more complex than that. I just can’t place it. Delicious beer. Very sweet. The alcohol provides warmth: this is very young for a Barleywine as it was bottled just over a month ago. The sweetness from the malts and the tartness from the wine barrels are a perfect marriage. IMO the mouthfeel is where this beer shines the most. Thinner than most Barleywines but OHB does it perfectly: feels like a champagne on the palate. OHB is fast becoming a Barleywines specialty brewery as they gave several excellent offerings
