12oz bottel poured into a snifter
Bottled 7/26/22
A- pours a deep black color with a one-finger foamy khaki head that reduces to leave nothing behind
S- aroma has a huge jammy berry note as it warms; raspberry jam, blackberries, dark cherries, black currant. Woody dark fruit notes from the port give raisin & fig. Undertones of dark chocolate, char and black licorice
T- Bold and bright berry notes up front with slightly tart, jammy raspberry, along with notes of blackberries, dark cherries and black currant. Mid-palate gives a wave of chocolate that matches the tart berry notes. The finish brings it all together with the chocolate and berries sticking around. The linger gives a long lasting note of port, with highlights of old oak, raisin, fig and prune
M- heavy body with moderate carbonation leads to a creamy and velvety mouthfeel that continues into an almost chewy, warming finish
