Pours an effervescent & slightly chill hazed chestnut/mahogany with a thumb+ of mocha colored head. Some head retention & average lacing

S: Bourbon notes, dark fruit

T: Follows the nose, dark chocolate, a booze bite, sweet creamy vanilla notes up front. Some cola notes fight though the Bourbon Cream flavors, a little woody hop as well, a touch of Pecan is noted. Finishes with boozy cream notes, a little oak & caramel, hints of pecan hulls

MF: Medium/chewy body, restrained carbonation, slightly warming. Body thins a bit once warmed up, carbonation picks up as well

Not getting Pistachio, but it does say Pistachio Con Leche & I am getting more Leche than anything else

The latest release of OHB's Event Horizon Spectrum Series. I always look forward to these beers as OHB brews the best Stouts and Barrel Aged Stouts IMO. Opaque with a large lasting chocolate milk covered head. There's a lot going on in the aroma. Very aromatic beer but I can't identify anything as the smell seems all over the place. It smells good, I just don't know what it smells like. Flavor is the same. My first reaction is WTF is this? Then I'm think; idk but it taste pretty damn good. Just a hint from the bourbon barrel aging. There's beer has pistachio in the name. But it doesn't taste nutty. It's very sweet with a sweet milk flavor. Mouthfeel is thick and full. Overall, I love that OHB is pushing the boundaries of stouts. Keep doing the good work OHB.
