On tap @ Flying Saucer Charlotte. Hazed gold with a bright white head. Smells citrusy and zesty, with some pine and herbal accents. Light grains hang on the edges. The taste is fresh citrus (zesty lemon really stands out), with a rind-like bitterness and light herbal and resinous notes that sit in the background and then linger in the finish some. Sweet grains sit along the back but the hops are pretty much at the forefront here. The feel is medium with a firm creaminess that has some pop to it. Light underlying oils help keep this smooth overall. This wasn’t bad for a Session IPA. It’s definitely packs a citrusy punch (but maybe a little too tart in the taste) and the low ABV and smooth body help keep this drinkable. It’s not too terribly interesting but it will quench your thirst at least.

Cask at Busy Bee
A - bright yellow with a thick, creamy, pure white head that had good retention
S - lemon, husk, yeast
T - lemon, faint orange peel, faint bitter finish
M - medium bodied, smooth, creamy, light carbonation
This is a rather disappointing beer. It's definitely not what I would expect from Olde Hickory. The flavor isn't bad, but it's dominated by a lemony presence that I would associate with a Kolsch or maybe an APWA. Overall, this is as promised. It's a sessionable beer. I just don't think it's a sessionable IPA. I'll pass in the future.
