Presentation: 12oz long neck with Christmas tree decor on the label. No freshness date.
Appearance: Hazy copper with an off-white creamy, bubbly head.
Smell: Loads of clean mild hop citrus, fruity ester and caramel aromas in the nose.
Taste: This is a very bitter brew! Up-front it's citrusy, sharp, earthy and salty (hop), followed by a hefty dose of malt flavours and ending with a a nutty, bready, dryness with a lingering residual bitterness.
Notes: A hefty traditional New England brew. If this were a bit higher in gravity this would be akin to a strong ale/barley wine, but, this brew stands on its own as one of the best brews we've ever had. Extremely well balanced and throughly enjoyable.
