Tasted by half-pint at the Baxter's Court, a JDW pub in Hackney, N. London.
A: straw hue, fluffy thin white beer head with good retention, against a low carbonated body.
S: amongst the 5 kinds of hops used in this beer (Fuggles, Cascade, Challenger, Styrian Goldings, and Goldings), to me the Goldings leads the chorus--slightly grassy, spicy, yet at the same time floral-fragrant and slightly savoury... very mixed hoppy nose, complex enough yet still refreshing and attractive for a pale ale.
T: a dryish palate is backed with plenty of hop bitterness carving a good depth on the palate, followed by lots of fruits, mixing yellow grapefruits (+zest), dried grass, juicy and bitter-sweet general citric flavour... a softly-textured, dryish, toasted maltiness sustains firmly in the aftertaste...
M&D: very light-bodied and softly-carbonated on the mouthfeel, the beer tastes just feather light and easy, yet the lingering, dryish-bitter hoppyness adds greatly to the depth as well as the overall drinkability, making this an a...bsolutely thirst-quenching hoppy ale!
