On tap at Mad Mex in State College, PA. Served in a pint glass.
A - Clear amber body with short white head that quickly diminished into a lacy film. Very sparse carbonation.
S - Grainy malt at first whiff, followed by earthy hops. Kind of mild hop aroma for a pale ale. Not a very exciting nose.
T - Toasted, grainy malt followed by a generic bitter flavor. Not picking up on a specific hop profile. Mostly earthy, but nothing stands out. Grainy and mildly bitter finish.
M - Part creamy, part watery texture. Has an odd herbal, medicinal quality that lingers on the palate for a long time. Strange bitterness that hangs out on the tongue for quite a while.
D - Not one of my favorite pale ales. Not as crisp and clean as others I've had in the past. Finish is a bit dirty and unbalanced. A little disappointed with this one.

A tumbler glass served from a cask at Capone's.
A: The ale has a copper color, more orange than red, with a stunning clarity. Atop the ale is a luxurious thick head of densely packed bubbles.
S: The nose is oacked full of hops, thick but not overpowering. They are floral and provide scant opportunity for the biscuity caramel malt notes to emerge.
T: The cask has created a great taste. The hops are floral but subtle, mixing up a good shot of citrus bite without an extremely bitter finish. The caramel malts are far more assertive in the mouth, adding a cereal flavor that nicely boosts up the hops. The finish is mild with lingering hop flavors long after the sip is gone.
M: This is a fine ale, made all the better by the cask. The hop profile is the big winner here.
D: I had to limit myself to one pint but I could easily belly up to a bar and take down several pints. A good APA.

This beer has been un-retired. Had from a firkin at Zeno's Real Ale Festival.
A - Nice copper orange, typical looking but lovely nonetheless.
S - Good and floral. Not over the top but this is an APA. A healthy dose of hops is all I can expect.
T - Very nice....good strong citrus hop flavor with a supporting maly backbone. Very solid beer.
M - B bit on the thin side....not overly impressive here....could use a bit more body.
D - A quality sessionable APA. Quite good....I do not often drink Legacy products but this will make me try things from then again. Maybe they have started to improve their quality control, which I feel they had problems with in the past.

Poured an orange copper, lightly carbonated, minimal head, nice side cling. SLightly thin citrus and floral hop aroma. This had a slight burnt caramel chewiness to start with some citrus hop flavor to follow but nothing that jumps out and gets ya'. Mouthfeel was full to start and finishes with some tannin. Strangely enough, I believe that although this wasn't a great beer, I enjoyed this and could put down a few in an evening.

First of all, I want to say I was a big fan of their Duke of Ale beer, but this just seems like a dimmed down version of that beer. It looks beautiful, with a clean and clear orangey amber color and small, but creamy white head. Fruity and floral hop nose, with some sweet maltiness and even a touch of caramel. The taste is very light and fruity, almost weak. Small bitter grapefruit-like hop bite in the finish, along with some floral notes. really itÂ’s not enough to satisfy. This beer is fine and light but lacks substance. The almost 6% alcohol is barely detectable. Not bad.
