From a bottle. I found this at the local Russian market.
Pours a slightly hazy gold with thin, bright lacing.
Hops have faded, but still remain somewhat grassy. There’s a grassy finish. It’s pretty good! Count me as happily surprised.

rare to have to add an old world german beer to BA here, seems like most of them are already on here. maybe this is newish? i had never seen this one before finding it at a rad little german deli on vista here in boise, the pretty blue eyed gal on the label caught my attention, and this crisp yellow lager was an excellent companion to the ham and mustard and kraut sandwich i enjoyed in here for lunch. its got a tall white head on it, a bright sunny color to it, and lots of carbonation building up several inches of white froth on top. it smells a little dusty but still crisp, classically german on the grain and the lager yeast, and with lots of minerals and just a light floral hop essence coming through. the flavor is somewhat mellow compared to the nose, almost faded, but still fresh, if that makes sense. i feel the malt and yeast almost as much as i taste them, some nice bittering hops come in a little early, and there is a blooming floral character in here almost like a spring daffodil or something i cant explain. i love the drinkability and liveliness of this, and found my 500ml bottle gone in just minutes, this is an easy gulper, a great lunch beer, and a nice traditional pils with some modern charm as well. affordable and tasty, i hope to see more of this around. looks like they do a few beers under this westphalener label, id like to try the others!
