330 ml bottle served cold into a pint glass. Beer #11 from the Canadian KALEA Beer Advent Calendar. Thanks Nicole and Kevin.
Appearance - Clear golden straw color, three fingers of dense white head even thought the pour wasn't that aggressive. Loads of visible carbonation. Plenty of lacing at the edges of the glass.
Smell - Clean and quite grassy, with subtle bits of citrus, a floral aspect and some light perfume.
Taste - Middling bitterness, some earthy grain flavor and less sweetness than most Helles.
Mouthfeel - Carbonation is there but just feels a bit flat overall. Body is medium-light and finish is reasonably dry.
Overall - Solid if unspectacular Helles, the feel is a little bit of a letdown but the aromas are quite good an inviting. A worthwhile addition to the calendar.
