Medium gold color, small white foamy head. Aroma is malty and sweet. A full bodied pale ale. Malty and slightly hoppy. Full smooth taste. Lots of flavor. Slightly smoky taste. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

The pour is a translucent golden amber color; the head is adequate in size, bright white in color with decent lace to cover the glass. The aroma of sweet butter, malt, and a pleasant enough nose, sweet at the start, quite malt laden with the top skimpy in feel. Finish is strongly carbonated, the hops quite light for a Pale Ale, the aftertaste dry. Average at best and greatly disappointed as this brewery has some fine beers in its line up.

Light amber hue w/ a touch of haze, topped by a persistent one fingered head that leaves lace. Flakes of yeast dance amongst the effervescent bubbling. Fruity esters hit the nose initially, then are followed by light caramel malt, and a hop nose that is both floral and citric. A light minerally note is present in aroma towards the end. Mild and clean hop bitterness upfront is quickly matched by light caramel sweetness and trace biscuit, but there's not else there in malt profile. Light butterscotch diacetyl falls short of providing richness, since the body and overall malt character is a touch weak. Hop flavor is mild, but perceptibly earthy. Finishes clean, a bit watery w/ fading butterscotch. Pioneer Pale is a decent brew, but for such a low ABV, British base and speciality malts would've provided more depth. Just too neutral and prosaic all around. Not flawed outright, and thus still makes a good session brew.

Moderate carbonation and head. Expecting a boatload of hops but not there more of an even mix of malt and hops. Smooth, clear amber color. Light to medium body.

A boring Pale Ale. How hard would it have been to throw a bucket of hops in after the boil? Maybe they forgot. No hop aroma, sweet funky malts. Taste isn't bad, though light and not much to say about it.

While this has been categorized as an English-style pale ale it does not seem to be made with English ingredients - particularly the hops. The beer looks very nice: amber/copper color with medium head that disappears but laces nicely throughout the tasting session. The aroma has an almost tangy and spicey malt quality that does not seem appropriate for the style, no English hop aroma present. Taste is malty spicyness with mild bitter undertones. Medium body. Not the best American interpretation of an English pale ale, but clearly a distinct beer from most Cascade-hop dominated American pale ales.

This was an overall, very nice pale ale. Not much of a head, but a nice copper color. Aroma is hoppy, but not strong. This one is English style all the way- not too hoppy like some American Pale ales. Malt is upfront, with a smooth balanced taste. Very easy to drink.
