Tan/orange colored body, not too much head after an aggresive pour, just wisps of foam. Smell definitely has a lot of malt in it, grassy and grainy. Slight banana in the nose, that's about the only taste of a "wheat" beer anywhere. Taste is pretty sour and bad. Not many positives about this beer, the taste is even farther off than the smell. I think i will pass on this beer.

Lightly hazed golden amber. The beer clears up considerably several minutes after the pour, going from almost milky to almost clear; and back to milky when the bottom of the bottle is added. The off-white head is nothing much to look at. Average in size at the start, it's inherent softness hastens it's descent to a featureless, cheap-looking thick disk (on it's way to complete extinction, no doubt). Not a trace of lace.

Decent nose all-in-all. More fruity than most American wheats, but doesn't lose that (admittedly bland) American wheat character. Just a whiff of spice permits me to cut it some slack and accord it an above-average score.

Doesn't taste anything like the typical Am-wheat to me. No lack of flavor, I'll give it that. Somewhat reminiscent of a Continental witbier (though not a particularly good one). Tastes of clover honey and lemon---cough drops without the menthol. The hops are more up-front than expected, though they aren't as prominent as all that. Still fruity with a faintly alcoholic apple/pear flavor and a pleasing German yeast-like cloviness (though this is a banana-free zone).

Short finish during which ethanol continues make it's presence known (though not to that great of an extent). The mouthfeel is heavier than most of this style, but is still only medium. Slightly slick rather than airy or fluffy. I would never pick this as an American Wheat in a blind taste test.

Wood Duck Wheat is a strange, pasticcio of a beer. It borrows elements from several different styles and several different countries and tries vainly to make it all come together into something resembling good beer. It doesn't quite succeed in my mind, but trying to sort it all out kept me interested until the final ounce. It's definitely an odd duck.

Nose exhibits some of the soggy wet bread characteristic of the American Wheat style, but also exudes glimmers of bananas, honey, vanilla, cloves, and wet cement- colorings much more akin to a Bavarian Weiss.
Begins with a shell of unmalted Wheat. Then it seemingly foregoes its American-styled roots in favor of a hefeweiss approximation. Full of banana popsicles, bubblegum, lemon drop, clove, and vanilla. A stony turn late, as a gravel sensation grows and provides dryness. Hopping is negliable.
Light bodied, inching perhaps somewhere fuller. Lowly carbonated. Easy and rewarding warm clime quaffer.
I generally abhor Pale Wheat Ales- and I'm likely biasing this became it presents as much more German-influenced- but this is right among the best of the type I've had, and easily the best experience I've had with Pioneer. That said, it is a couple notches below my prefered hefeweizens.

Pours a fizzy, short-lived wheat head. Smell didn't hit my nose right, I got an antihistamine spray impression. Color is dark for a wheat, and cloudiness is minimal (but there's quite a bit of sediment in the bottle, odd considering I bought it four months ago). Odd fruity taste, more bubble gum than banana, a touch of clove, some lemon, and maybe pear. Banana aspect does come up toward the end. I may not have a handle on the style, but this seems a bit odd to me.

Strange color of slightly more yellow then lemon juice thats a super solid cloud of opaqueness, a small white loose puffy head caps the top and faded slowly leaving minimal lace. Smell has some small lemony and sweet wheat characteristics thats present but not much depth to it. Better then average cuz its a easy to get the aroma its not heavy enough. Taste unfortunately has some of the same things going for it, light easy crisp lemon thats short and quick with some lingering wheat malt keeping the sweetness around and helping keep it more streamlined for going down. The feel is a good medium body with a favorable wheat texture that fills up nicely as it goes down. Made for a nice drinker in the hot weather.

I'm sorry but my brother BigHugey must have just filled his mouth with a pile of $hit prior to tasting this because this is a very enjoyable wheat beer...Smell is no worse than average...a nice little wheat malt smell...also some honey...the appearance is bright gold with no head whatsoever a few minutes after you pour..I love the taste...for a regular ol American Wheat it is slick, creamy, and sweet as if there is some honey used...The bottle doesn't tout the use of honey but there must be some in here...A billion times better than Leine's Honey Wheat....I love the flavor of this and wish I could get my hands on more of this. It is a very solid American Wheat that my taste buds love...

This beer is a clear deep golden in color. A small head fizzes away in 5 seconds and leaves not a trace of a head or lace as I drink. This beer has very little going for it on the nose. Some very slight wheat malt. The taste is pretty bland. No german style weizen characteristics are present so I must assume that this beer is an american style wheat. And a poor one at that. Mouthfeel is about medium and absolutely flat. Almost no sign of carbonation whatsoever. This beer doesn't have any bad off-flavors, but the mouthfeel, appearance and bland taste lead to my sub-par rating.
