L- Quite dark gold (mid amber), clear, pours with 3mm white head. Later clears to lacing.
S- Some faint fruity notes with background light biscuity malts.
T- It's quite notably hoppy-dry, but with a quite intriguing bright toasty palate in parallel. Now reading the lable it mentions 'subtle citrus notes', yes I get that now, subtle being the thing that makes it work for me.
M- It achieves a balance of having the body/heft of a more trad beer, with the subtle brightness of some some contemporary hops.
O- I haven't read any reviews below yet, but I have to smile as the present rating tells me this brew is divisive. If like me you welcome trying a modern twist (*in balance*) of a trad beer then it's good. If you prefer markedly hops-forward profiles, then this brew might seem timid to you.
This would also seem a versatile beer, satisfying in cooler months, yet refreshing in the summer. I like it, and will happily buy it again.

Purchased from the Marks & Spencer supermarket, coming in a 500ml brown bottle; BB 08/2014, served mildly chilled in a straight imperial pint glass. Notes: ingredients include East Anglian malted barley, English Boadicea and First Gold hops and Nelson Sauvin hops from New Zealand.
A: pours a dark golden to tawny colour with very good clarity and lively carbonation, topped with a thin layer of off-white foamy head.
S: lightly citric and floral fragrant with a touch of spice upfront, while the more refreshing notes as of lemons and gooseberries stay in the background along with a decent input of biscuity pale malts.
T: lightly effervescent, the foretaste is lightly citric & floral hoppy with a more assertive presence of pale malts and a light boiled root veggie-like sweetness, followed by a rather low level of bitterness and equally restrained performance of hop aroma and flavour towards the short finish.
M&O: refreshing on the palate and medium-bodied, this is the most mundane or the least enjoyable contract brew that Adnams has done for M&S supermarket chain, in my opinion.
