tried this beer at wetherspoons st austell, cornwall , 04/05/2015, for me this is a perfect beer , citrus y first taste and then a powerful hop that lingers in the back of the throat in a most pleasant way, it is a pale yellow ,a bit darker than a good lager , with good head retention and perfect lacing to the bottom of the glass
the body was smooth and thickish and then a perfect blend of residual sweetness with a more than pleasant hop linger to the throat ,
the first one was good , the next better ,by the fourth i was smitten

1/2 pint at JTW Banbury.
Somewhat cloudy. Colour of light marmalade.
Citrus hop aroma. Some freshly mown grass.
Medium sweetness at first and then a long bitter finish.
Medium mouthful if somewhat oily.
Some of these American renditions brewed in the UK and then served on cask just don't seem to work for me.

Had this twice in a week at 'spoons in Helensburgh. The first time (a rare bright day) I noted down as a fairly light amber colour with a typcial 'spoons mottled head, leaving lots of lacing. The second time (more standard gloomy day) it looked significantly darker.
The first time I noted a fairly muted herbal aroma (was struggling to pick anything out over the grease smell from the kitchen), whereas the second time there was clearly citrus. Something similar applies to the taste. First time the hops seemed rathe rminty, whereas the second it seemed more citric. I'm wondering whther my first tasting was overly influenced by the residue on my tongue from the more hardcore (from a hoppy perspective) Fyne Ales Jarl I had consumed beforehand. Feel was surprisingly smooth both times (at least I'm consistent there).
Either way it was good beer!
