Bottled and now sold as Masrks & Spencer Smoked Ruby
red coloured body with fleeting tan head
looks and smells rather like root beer
like most smoked beers the smoke overrides all other flavour aspects
still pretty good though

Marks and Sparks version - 330ml bottle. Cherry Wood Smoked beer on the label.
Deep chestnut red.
Lightly smoked and malt aroma. Quite enticing.
More smoke in the flavour. Some sweetness followed by the bitterness from the malted barley.
Rather nice at first but was wearing towards the end even from such a small bottle.

On cask at recent 'spoonsfest. Smells of smoky bacon crisps with a hint of pepper. Sweet with smoky bacon flavour and wood smoke. Somewhat dry and spicy with hints of chocolate. I like its woody nature. Definitely a sipper.
