Cask. Sparkler used. Dark amber. Clear with a solid, light cream coloured head. Lacing rings formed.
A sweet malty and citrus hop aroma that both come through upon tasting providing a nicely balanced brew.
A vibrant carbonation for cask. Mid to full bodied feel.
A nice Winter Warmer.

Served on cask at the Rose and Thistle, Frimley Green into a UK pint glass, the 3rd of a mini 'winter/Xmas beer' session!

Ruby red in colour with an off white creamy head.

Roasted malts and sugars on the nose, with a hint of spice and dried fruit

Was really impressed with the taste of this beer, I was getting dark berry fruits, biscuit and maybe raisins/sultanas.

A pleasant creamy mouthfeel from this beer with a good finish, not too thin, just right for the ABV with a bitter aftertaste but not too harsh

Of the 3 other beers reviewed on this mini session, I enjoyed this one the most when compared to Sharps 'Abbey Christmas' and Young's 'Winter Warmer'

Half pint, hand pulled in the excellent ‘Castle’ (Cambridge). The Adnam’s own pub had 8 different beers of their own available in cask form, so half pints were the order of the day.

Dark amber to chestnut in colour, with a white foaming head.

Brewed with Maris Otter, Chocolate and Amber Malts: the smell was always going to be malty and it certainly was. The hops used are Boadicea and Chinook but they don’t appear in the aroma at all.

The taste was of a fruity malt loaf with a slight bitterness from the hops towards the end.

The 4.5% ABV sits nicely within the brew making the beer easy to drink, a pleasant enough Christmas beer without ‘setting the world alight’.

Copper-mahogany with a slightly off-white head. Warm malts, light hops and a very light bit of spice.

Rich malt taste; zesty, lightly spicy hops. Not much "warmth"; definite toffee, caramel and even light milk chocolate.

Smooth, low carbonation. Pretty light for a winter warmer, but also quite sessionable.
