This particular style of “quaffing ale” derived its name from the price that was charged in the 18th century. Inflation may have changed the price but not the beer. A light balance of hop and malt with a long dry finish make this a perfect choice for a long session.

A: Hazy copper-bronze (plenty of particulate floating about), off-white head, great retention, light lace.
S: Earthy-orange zest and a light biscuity malt.
T: Biscuity malt, earthy-orange zest, light fruity esters, good bitterness. Plenty of flavour for its weight.
M: Light to moderate body is smooth & almost creamy; modest carbonation.
D: Very drinkable.
