Faxe Royal Strong is a distinctive beer with 8% alcohol. It has more bite and taste than a traditional lager, but is still easily drinkable with a very bright colour and a light but characteristic fruity taste. The faint sweetness combined with the high alcohol percentage gives a balanced product with a vinous taste.

Pale golden color, mid-sized white head. Aroma of malt, alcohol, and metal. Taste is not so bad, but nothing good either: malty with light alcohol bitterness.

568ml Can, 8% abv.
A: Golden to pale amber in colour, clear, decent sized head which disappeared fairly quickly, left some lacing.
S: Initially had slight hints of citra hop, gave way to apples and malt.
T: Very malt forward, basic sweet taste, did a good job of hiding the booze.
M: Medium to heavy body, low carbonation, slight burn from the booze.
O: Not too bad for the style, one of the more drinkable ones which good be both a good and bad thing.

Maybe I'm just a sucker for high ABV beers?
I'm not going to say this is a great beer, but it's very good and I like it.
Originally in this review I said It's quite simple in it's taste, just typical malt and hops flavor, with some noticeable alcohol, and a touch of sweetness (to a connoisseur/super-taster it may seem like more than a touch). After having more, and thinking about it, I disagree with the use of the word "simple". There's quite a bit going on here compared to many other beers. There's no special/atypical flavors (earthiness, wildness, added spices, phenolic, bret, fruits, etc.), but still a really nice melody of flavors, and both the hops and yeast taste weren't too typical in my opinion.
Carbonation is moderate to moderate-strong, which I like. I gives a reasonably good mouthfeel but nothing great.
I personally get a single can or two of this every once in a while regularly because it's probably the cheapest high ABV beer available to me that tastes good. I like the Unibroue stuff, but it's a bit pricier.
Maybe it's just me, but I find maybe people are prejudiced against this beer. Deserves a bit more love in my opinion.

A strong lager but without identity or complexity. Tried it from a one liter can. It creates initially a gogg head but it disappears rapidly. Nose is weak with some hint of sweet malt and alcohol. Taste is straightforward sweet malt taste. No bitternes or complexity. Not a very recommendable beer unless the purpose is to get drunk fast.

Now turned to Faxe Royal Strong, at 8%.
Pours pale golden, small half finger white head that pops away really fast, leaving just a bit of lace.
Smell of sweet malts, some apples, faint honey and some booze.
Taste of way too sweet malts, a spicy weird feel and big acidity (enhanced by the big carbonation), like a bad apple cider. Some floral notes, probably the only nice thing about this beer. Wet cardboard and metal in the finish, cloying sugar syrup.
Way too fizzy, but light bodied, rather easy to drink, so one should be wary of the high abv.
Pretty bad. No helping this one.
