Copenhagen 25/1 2016. 50 cl bottle from Føtex, Mimersgade, Kbh. NV. The Lottrup brand design in a dark blue version.
Pours clear dark reddish brown with an off-white head. Stable. Settles as flimsy layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma of dark roasted malts, licorice, caramel and syrup. Sweet and a little spicy.
Medium strong carbonation and slightly thick palate. Lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is surprisingly watery. Licorice of the sweet kind - not the salty strong one. A little spicy with light bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and not particularly long.
Maybe they are a bit too happy about the licorice.

500 ml can, from NETTO Hjørring. ABV is 6.0%. IBU 35. Very dark brown colour, large and creamy beige head. Aroma of dark malts, caramel, liquorice and dark sugars. Smooth mouthfeel. Malty flavour, caramel, liquorice and dark sugars again, roasty finish, moderate bittering hops. Should not be drunk ice cold, better at cellar temperature.
