A dubbel, but not as intense as the strongest Belgians. Ours is a US Style Dubbel. It differs from the traditional ones by having a strong aroma hop. This gives, in addition to the fatness from the malt, a bouquet of aroma from the exquisite overseas hops. That was all that was missing.
The beer is filtered and very full-bodied from the more than five malts. It is a beautiful mahogany color, and despite its fullness and strength, easy to drink. It promotes inner warmth and goes perfectly with hearty meat dishes, but also with rich desserts and strong cheeses.

Copenhagen 6/8 2019. 75 cl bottle. Gift from my Girlfriend. Red and Green label with a close up of M. C Lottrup the founder of the Ceres Brewery back in the 19th century.
Pours clear, dark brown with a red hue. Medium-sized off-white head. Stable. Settles as thin, almost transparent layer of foam just managing to cover the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass.
Aroma is sweet, sugary with a nice, citric, sour streak. Caramel, brown sugar, light roast, dark fruit. Lightly tart notes. Citrus and unripe berries.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lightly sticky and tingling texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by a quite strong and prominent bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and a little rough. Lingering.
Surprisingly bitter when I take the aroma into account. More than decent Belgian inspired Ale.
