Copenhagen 9/12 2018. 33 cl from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh Ø. Drawing of ghoulish Pjerrot with a rose and a pair of scissors on the label. Seems to be brewed on behalf of the amusement park Tivoli.
Pours opaque dark brown with big light beige head. Settles as thin almost transparent layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is roasted and perfumed. Sweet caramel, roasted dark malts, notable citric odors of Grape fruit and citrus. Light notes of tobacco and shoe cream.
Soft carbonation. Slightly thick, soft texture. A bit oily and sticky.
Flavor is quite sweet. Followed by and balanced by slightly more moderate, citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter sweet. Lingers for a while.
Not a bad Black IPA. A bit on the sweet side but with a good roastiness and not without bitterness.
