Draft. Clear brown appearance. Easy drinking chocolatey flavor. Lighter mouthfeel. Very mild bourbon note comes through after warming.

On tap at the brewpub...the bourban really works nicely with this brown..doesn't overwhelm but it adds a nice strong quality to it....this is a very tasty beer...almsot a sipper type which is odd for a brown...body is medium...excellent nose...flavors are sweet brown sugar and bourban....I liked this one a lot..

1/2 G. growler. Filled at the brewery.

Bronzed amber. To call this bourbon colored is too easy, but that is exactly what it is. The head, even from a growler, is huge, sticky and pale khaki.
The aroma is enveloping, full of cocoa-hued bourbon and grain. Warm without booze. Complete and satisfying.
Taste treads similar ground. Begins with a chocolate-coated cherry essence. Turns breadier and a touch grainy. Fleeting glimpses of peanut butter and nutella. Then the bourbon enters, full of vanilla and caramel, and even more cherry. Rich and coating, but as far from cloying as it gets. Void of alcohol traits, this remains placid and inviting. Touches of grain are interwoven and not raw-seeming. It ends with just a nod of herbal hops, then a continuation of vanilla and cherry-juiced caramel.
It starts a bit sparce, then settles to a realized medium compostion.
It's as drinkable as they come for Kentucky Whiskey fans.
The barrels are used well here. This is a very good, tweaked, brown ale (based upon their very good, standard, Ancient Aztalan). Old Grandad would be proud.
