12oz bottle, served in a snifter glass. Pours a darker caramel amber body, two finger offwhite head, fair retention, bits of lacing. Smell is pine and resin, lots of caramel, minimal citrus. Fairly bland when compared to a lot of other double IPAs. Flavour is similar, caramel and resin, a touch of grapefruit zest, moderate resinous bitterness, toffee. Sweet throughout and somewhat bitter on the finish, but nothing substantially spectacular or balanced. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, good carbonation. Overall nothing that anyone should get too worked up about. Still a good beer.

A - Beautiful copper body, off white head, quick to fade to a cap that lasts and lasts. Lots of lacing.
S - Candy and pine. Sharp resin note.
T - A bit muddled. Pine and a bit of fruit, but citrus is largely absent. The back is bitter.
M - Starts sticky, closes a bit dry.
O - Wish the fruit was fuller, the close a bit softer. Still, a pretty beer with good feel.
