Copenhagen 20/6 2015. 50 cl bottle from Fakta. The second installment in the Schiøtz series that I taste. I am getting used to the stern brewer scowling at me from the label.
Pours clear brown with a beige head. Settles as a thin layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is intensely sweet with spices that reminds me of the Hungarian bitter Zwick and cough syrup.
Medium strong carbonation. Slighty thick, soft yet lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is sweetish with dark berries, cough syrup and spices. Some sourness in the aftertaste.
This could have been a Christmas beer - a bit too sweet and homey.

August 2020: 500 ml bottle, from SuperBrugsen Byrum, Læsø. Brewed with juice of sloe, blackcurrants and rosehips. ABV is 6.5%. Dark ruby colour, small off-white head. Malty aroma, hints of caramel and said berries / fruits. Malty and fruity flavour, not nearly as sweet as I feared. Notes of chocolate and said berries / fruits. Appears well balanced and enjoyable, despite the hops being very moderate. Might well buy again.
