A: The beer is crystal clear dark mahogany red in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with just a collar of medium-sized beige bubbles around the edge of the glass and some specks of bubbles on the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of elderberries and bog myrtle are present in the nose, the latter of which seems similar to juniper berries and bay berries.
T: The taste follows the smell, with the flavors of the berries and bog myrtle standing out in front of hints of rye and chocolate malts. There's just enough berry/herbal (and underlying hop) flavors to mask any sweetness from the malts.
M: It feels medium-bodied and somewhat smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is quite an interesting bock beer and doesn't seem nearly as heavy compared to any other beers in the style—mostly because this has a double dose of hops and berries/herbs to counter the malts.
