Served into a Royal Beer pint glass in a cafe in Copenhagen, Denmark. Reviewed live. Cost was 45 Kroner (about 6.92 Euro).
A: Pours a three finger head of lovely soft cream, good thickness, and average retention. Colour is a caramel copper. Semitransparent. Generally appealing, but nothing special.
Sm: Cream, sour fruit esters, and bacteria. Smells more like a lambic than a lager. Very unexpected but welcome. It's caught my interest now. The strength of the aroma is pretty mild.
T: A very creamy open continues through the climax, but is joined there by very light sour ester hops. It's sort of a Kilkenny meets lambic sort of beer, more kilkenny than lambic (unfortunately). I didn't expect this, but I do like it. That said, it's a bit simplistic: only two notes. The balance is slightly off as a result, and the build is strange but good. I'd like more complexity and depth.
Mf: Smooth, creamy, and wet. Not quite refreshing. It complements the open, but not the climax nor the finish.
Dr: The price is obscene and the quality is pretty good. It's very easy to drink, but I wouldn't get it again because of its simplicity. Worth a try at a lower price, anyway. I just don't know if it'd be as good if it weren't on draught.

Rather dark gold - with brass hints, a white head, rather small and little lacing.
A faint smell of cereal and lemon.
A sweet biscuit taste, lime and citric acid, somewhat alkaloid bitterness.
Medium carbonation, medium bubbles, somewhat watery, a rather small body and a short dry ending.
Not much more than a standard lager.

The colour is amber; the three finger head is airy, uneven and off-white.
The smell is sweet and a bit roasted. It reminds somewhat of a English pale ale. There are fruity notes of apricots and plums and bitterness with some metallic notes.
The taste is very malty with a fine medium body; there are dry roasted notes of hazelnuts and dried apricots. The aftertaste is a bit weaker with anonymous bitter-dry notes and some roasted malt.
The carbonation is milder than most other dark lagers. Small bubbles.
A much darker and drier “classic” than most other brands. I liked it.
