The original Svendborg Wienerøl was primarily a low percentage lunch beer. We have chosen to turn up the taste and the alcohol percentage, so that it approaches what is today defined as a Vienna Lager. A light golden full-bodied bottom-fermented beer, but a malty flavor and body from the lighter caramelized malt types. German hops give a refreshing bitterness that balances with the sweetness of the malt.

Copenhagen 23/5 2022. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Rotunden, Hellerup. As always with the Godt Bryg Brand a copy of the original label from the pre-historic beer that they are trying to emulate. This time a Vienna from Svendborg Brewery where they have increased the ABV.
Pours clear amber with a mid-sized white head. Stable. Settles thin, almost transparent layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense with sweet malty odor mingling with a bit of sour grains and metal. Caramel and toffee. Grains and tin foil.
Strong carbonation. Slightly thick, watery, lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a rather strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and caramel-ish. Lingers for a bit. Finish is sweet and bit thin.
Pretty much a run of the mill and a bit generic Vienna. Well - maybe the beer wasn't that great in the good old days.
