Brewed after inspiration from the recipe for the original Ceres Julebryg. Goes well with most of the heavier Christmas dishes.

Copenhagen 23/11 2023. 50 cl bottle from Netto, Tomsgårdsvej, Kbh. NV. The Godt Brygs usual label design with a rendering of the old label for Ceres Christmas Beer from 1968.
Pours clear copper with a red hue and a small white head. Settles as a thin patch of of foam floating in the middle of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with a bit of metal and sour grains. Toffee, caramel and a whiff of brown sugar. Sharp sour grains. Metallic alcohol.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft yet lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed and balanced by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and bit rough. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.
I would not go back to 1968 for it.
