The Godt Bryg series celebrates the proud Danish beer brewing tradition from 34 local breweries, the oldest of which was founded in 1832. "Godt Bryg" was used to describe the best beers, and we have been inspired by those recipes. Brewed with good ingredients, and the same pride in craftsmanship as back then, added to what we have learned about beer brewing since.

The classic Gammel Jysk Porter Stowt is based on an old recipe. It is a dark but fresh and easy-drinking porter with notes of roasted coffee, burnt malt and a hint of caramel

Copenhagen 25/3 2022. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Rotunden, Hellerup. The usual design for the Godt Bryg brand with a classic beer label in the center.

Pours opaque dark brown with a mid-sized off-white head. Settles as 0,3 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface.

Aroma is moderately intense with a sweet and a bit sugary odor mingling with a scent of licorice. Dark lightly toasted malts, brown sugar, peat and salty licorice.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is medium intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a notable bitter undertone. Lingers for a while. Fairly dry finish.

A bit generic but decent Porter.
