The model for Schiøtz Dybsort Porter is the English porter. And like these, it is characterized by a strong aroma, with hints of roasted malt, but also with notes of chocolate, licorice and coffee, as befits a fully mature porter.

Copenhagen 9/4 2017. 50 cl bottle from Fakta. Black and blue label with the grumpy portrait of Theodor Schiøtz, the founder of the Albani Breweries.
Pours opaque dark brown with quite big light beige head. Settles as thin layer of foam barely covering the surface of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is dark and lightly roasted. Dark berries, fruity sweetness and a little boozy. Pharmaceutical - reminds me a little of cough drops.
Soft carbonation and medium thick palate.
Flavor is quite sweet followed by medium herbal bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter licorice.
I could mistake this for a bottle of medicine - but then again I would wish that most medicine had an ABV of 6,2.
