A crossover is a beer that mixes two styles. Schiøtz Belgian IPA is a Belgian Blonde Ale with a classic US IPA character. It has the spicy, aromatic fruitiness of a Blonde Ale and also the characteristic hop bitterness of an India Pale Ale. In addition, in true Schiøtz fashion, we have added a little extra from nature's own treasury in the form of citrus, elderflower and guava, which gives the beer a spicy and exotic touch. Typically Schiøtz.

Copenhagen 11/5 2016. 50 cl bottle from Fakta. Theodor Schiøtz looking aggressively at me from the label.
Pours clear amber with a white head. Settles asa 0,5 cm thick layer of foam. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is fruity sweet with caramel, toffee and some Belgian yeast. Subdued notes of citrus. More Belgian Blonde than IPA over the aroma.
Medium strong carbonation and slightly thick texture.
Flavor is quite sweet and a little bit sugary. Followed by a medium strong bitterness with some citrus sourness. Sour/bitter aftertaste.
More IPA in the flavor than in the aroma. Some spicyness in the aftertaste as well. Like many in the Schiøtz series a bit special - but nicely balanced with a sour twist.
