Schiøtz Mørk Bock is a little more interesting than what you would expect from a dark Bock. It contains nuances of taste and aroma from, among others, Danish berries and porse. In addition to the berries and four barley malts, we have also chosen to work with rye and chocolate malt. The beer offers a light sweetness from Demerara sugar, which is counterbalanced by the berries, porse and the finest Hallertauer Mittelfrüh hops.

Copenhagen 13/11 2015. 50 cl bottle from SuperBrugsen. Grumpy old Theodor Schiøtz looking at you from the label.
Pours clear dark copper brown with an off-white head. Settles as a 0,5 cm thick layer of foam.
Aroma of sweet berries like blackcurrant and elderberries and some fermented fruit and alcohol.
Medium strong carbonation and oily palate.
Flavor is quite sweet. Sweet berries gives a sugary quality only partly balanced by sourness. Fermented fruit and alcohol provides a boozy background.
How can mr. Schiøtz pull such a grumpy face when facing such a sweet beer. Way too much Cherry Wine and way too little beer.
