Rather dark with brown edges, decent initial head that fades face leaving trails of lace.

Mainly a caramel malt nose, hint of pine.

Caramel and roasted malt turns seamlessly into a drawn-out cascadey pine finish. Hops weren't overly bitter, but nicely present.

Smooth mouthfeel, perhaps a bit undercarbonated, on par for SS, and helps the drinkability.

This is among my favorite styles, but the implementation can be all over the map. I thought this was very nicely done, and this beer didn't really pull to either the dark or the hoppy side of things, it found a delicious flavor profile where both elements shine through. Hope this one gets worked into the usual rotation!
