A beer that more resembles dark orange juice inside the glass. Overwhelming citrus with a subtle dankness are the first impressions on the nose, but soon give way to aromas of candied fruit. The light and fluffy body is accompanied by a silky smooth mouth feel created by loads of oats and an addition of lactose.

12oz can. Can bottom is stamped 'CANNED ON 01/16/23'.
Cloudy, pale amber colored body. One thin finger of white head, which retreats to a partial cap and ring. Leaves behind partial walls of lacing.
Aroma is like fruit candy, with sweet orange and a touch of dank resin.
Taste is again a mix of citrus and tropical fruit and pine dank resin. Orange, papaya, and dank hops. Solid malt base. Aftertaste gets more from citrus pith and pine. Low bitterness throughout.
Medium mouth feel, with a smooth texture. Very good carbonation.
A low bitterness IPA that allows a balanced mix of fruit and resin. Restrained in the nose and taste.

I like this take on the NEIPA. The hazy orange color is refreshing to see, as the many extremely-pale examples of the style tend to be redundant and boring. Immediately present on the nose is an inviting, juicy tropical hop saturated aroma.

Taste follows with an aggressive dose of grapefruit, mango, honey-like malty-ness and a wonderfully smooth bitterness. I don’t pick up any ‘vegetal’ flavor at all, nor ‘hop burn’, as many heavily dry-hopped beers fall victim to.

Undoubtedly, this has been one of my favorite creations from SSB. All the elements play so well together, kind of bridging the gap between NEIPA and classic IPA. Hopefully it will make a return.
