Poured into large snifter style glass, maybe a 16 oz pour? Maybe 14 I dont know. Review is from notes taken last Wednesday, the 10th of October.

Appearance: Poured a rather murky looking rust color with shades of a deep brown sometimes, but mostly had a very bright character to it. I noticed right away that this beer was served to me in an improperly sanitized glass, as the middle section was full of tiny bubbles. Not sure if it affected the pour or not, but there was very little head retention, and it through the mouthfeel off.

Smell: The smell had some real sweet notes to it, raisin, dates, more dried fruits, a bit of cardboardy/band aid aroma.

Taste: Taste was more of the same. Some really strong sweetness, mixed in with some sort of off flavor. Some slight caramel notes, but the sweetness really takes over. Little hop presence at all.

Mouth: The mouthfeel was lacking and rather lifeless. Kind of a dull note, and some soapyness. Possibly it was the bad glass, maybe not. I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

Drink and overall: Meh. It was OK, but not something I would seek again in the future. I would like to give it another try, but I just feel like all of the South Shore "big beers" that I've tried have been disappointing. I'll stick to their Pils.

Murky orange-brown, slight head with some lacing.

Sugary and boozy smell, dark fruits and caramel as well.

Very sweet, caramel and sugar dominate. Some dark fruit: raisin and cherry. Earthy and woody notes present also. A boozy note, but it adds rather than detracts.

Light carbonation and smooth but substantial mouthfeel.

Nicely done, got a bit sweet towards the end, but has some complexity.
