Pours medium to light brown, with a two finger head. Aroma is malt. Taste is pretty typical for a brown ale - sweet malt, lightly hopped. Mouthfeel is light.

I got a bottle of this beer off the single shelf from a beer store in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. It poured a clear rich amber with thin white head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had subtle sweet malt notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet malt base and notes of vanilla and bitter hop. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a decent beer.

Figures. Either they're twisting the accepted definition of "American Brown Ale" for marketing or they've actually made one and failed miserably. To me it seems like an attempt at a British Brown, but it's kind of light weight. Aroma has a bit of root beer in it. Body's thin. Meh.
