Smells a bit sour, with some banana; pleasant, actually. Good mouthfeel, not too carbonated. Tastes bready, with some citrus notes. A bit sweet, but not cloying. A pleasant feel of alcohol. Very well balanced, and very drinkable. I'd definitely get this again.
The label says this beer was brewed by the Sand Creek Brewing Company for the Galena Beer Company (of Galena, IL). Another reviewer said that the Galena Beer Co is defunct, but I don't think that's true. Their Facebook entry says they plan to open a brewpub in Galena in 2010.

Presentation: 12oz brown pop top...this beer is brewed by Sand Creek for the now-defunct Galena Beer Company (Galena, IL). The label is nice, and is evocative of Galena's river-city past
Appearance: Hazy golden beer with a nice stark white head which soon fades to a thick film
Smell: Fairly typical hefeweizen aromas of banana and spice, though this has a touch of orange as well
Taste: Tart fruit and German yeasty notes...the orange is more apparent here than in the aroma, and the banana/spice notes are somewhat downplayed...still not a bad hefe
Mouthfeel: On the light side of medium bodied
Drinkability: Medium
Conclusion: Not a bad hefe by any means, and not sugary sweet like some American examples, but nothing extraordinary either. My favorite part of this is that it's got more of a tart, twangy edge to it than many other American-brewed hefes, especially in this price range.
