Tasted this beer by half-pint at the recent Catford Beerfestival (in SE London) on cask. As I arrived at the beerfestival within the first 90 minutes after its opening on the first day, I expected this beer to be very fresh, and so it was.
It pours a straw or very pale golden colour, with rimmed white head and minimum carbonation. The aroma is clearly dominated by floral hops and refreshingly sweetish pale malts and malted wheats, with a hint of spicy note of coriander seeds--overall very pleasant. The taste is just incredibly delicious--tangerine juice, spicy bitterness lingering on the palate, with mild elderflower-like floral hops and a tinge of lightly, grainy/wheaty sweetness in the aftertaste. Light-bodied by very flavoursome, it's an incredibly enjoyable, easy-drinking but balanced wheat beer when served ju...st fresh. But it has to be added that this distinctive beer is not so much like Belgian Witbier as it's categorised here.
