Tasted this beer on tap by half-pint at the Evening Star, Brighton, on 24/06/05. From the Dark Star's website the tasting note of this beer is identical with that of Landlords Wit, but I find these two beers so very different from each other...
The beer pours a very pale straw colour, with medium carbonation and almost no beerhead... looking just average and even a bit below my expectation... The nose suggests a lightly spicy hoppy note and a floating, mildly sweetish herbal aroma... quite smooth and not aggressive at all. On the palate, incoming is a dryish, spicy, and even a bit conflicting flavour of coriander seeds, mild-wheatish taste (without the sweet edge), and tangerine peels, while a crisp, dryish mouthfeel is manifest in the finish. Overall the mouthfeel is a bit thin and this beer seems to lose a lot of flavour at the temperature served, although it's certainly easy-drinking and might improve when it's served less COLD...
