L- On popping the ring-pull, from 30Cm away I got a blast of citrus+?herb scent. The can was well rested and chilled, yet poured carefully I've straight off got 10% beer/90% foam, so take the pour reeeal easy on this one. I've now added a top-up to the glass, there is probably still 1/3 of the can to pour; the head is 2Cm above the top of the c475Ml glass.
S- 'That very hipster' hops profile - zesty citrus. The brewery describe the flavour as 'zesty, peachy'. We shall see...
T- I get zesty, its somewhere between bitter orange and grapefruit. Usually that wouldn't really work for me too well but here it's a little more balanced and perfumed rather than as assault on my palate.
F- Bright and hoppy dry, contemporary style and refreshing. I think the 5.5%ABV gets somewhat obscured behind the hopping.
O- Very contemporary but done with more finesse and balance than usual. Not the blunt instrument some of this type of flavour-profile beer can be. Still not a style that works too well for me, citrus notes remind me of the 90s and sticking a wedge of lemon in the necks of bottles of Corona lager - I mean fun and fashionable for a few years but in retrospect... hmmm!
Bought from a Waitrose in London. £3/440ml BBE: 1/7/2021
