It is an exciting time as we bring back a historic beer that was first produced almost 100 years ago. That beer is George Gales Prize Old Ale which was first released back in 1928.
This version of the beer will include some of the last drops of the original Prize Old Ale which was last brewed back in 2011 by Gale's brewers at the Fullers Brewery.

Bottle conditioned. Deepest amber. Medium thick creamy head; light tan in colour and billowy in nature.
An aroma of English autumn fruits emanates from the surface along with dates and prunes. Notes of sherry present along with composting apples and pears.
A more subdued flavour reflecting the bouquet with hints of tobacco. Somewhat boozy. Slightly sour as an Old Ale should be.
Full bodied with a cask like carbonation. A light astringency enhances the feel.
I'm looking forward to taste this in years to come as my remaining bottles age in the cellar.
Update:
Dec' 2024 - Things have mellowed down nicely so far. Far less booze than I remember and maturing towards a classic Old Ale.
