Reddish-amber, decent head.
Smells a bit nutty and malty.
Toasted grain and nuts with a hint of hops towards the end to keep things interesting.
Medium mouthfeel and carbonation.
A nice session lager. Enough flavor to keep things interesting. Good job here by Minocqua.

This beer poured a very cloudy golden-orange color with a thick white head. The aroma is moderately malty, sweet and somewhat nutty, very little hops in the nose, with just a bit of yeasty aroma. The flavor is highly malty, grainy, nutty, and sweet with a medium-low hop bitterness that provides a nice balance. The carbonation is medium-high and body rather full. Overall a well crafted wild rice lager, was probably the best offering of what they had in stock at the time of my visit.

4 oz tap pour into a mini pint at the Minocqua Brewpub in Minocqua, WI.
A - Clear golden amber in color with a good clingy lace coating on the glass coming from the low off-white head.
S - Spicy, grassy hops kick off the nose in the right direction but it seems to just fall short in conjunction with the toasted amber malts. A hint of graininess and rice comes through.
T - Some bitterness from the hops comes through in the flavor but otherwise the flavor is a direct mirror of the aroma. Spicy, grassy hops and toasted amber malts. Better tasting than smelling though.
M - This lager is crisp and fairly clean which is respectable. A little bit of bitterness to the medium-light body.
D - Not the greatest drinking beer, Wild Bill isn't too shabby for a refreshing offering on a hot day but is very average.

Somewhere between goldenrod and dusky tan, totally clear with a small white head.
Aromatic of grain, toasted bagels, and mixed nuts, all honey roasted.
It begins with a coarse brush of grain, toasty at first, then slathered in honey. Clean and well-lagered through the middle as the wild rice adds its hallmark nuttiness. Hops are minimal, but it dries at the close.
Light-medium bodied, with a good amount of carbonation. I'm not a big wild rice fan, either on my plate or in my beer, but this pulls it off without pulling it's punches. Good session lager with some memorable traits.

Dark yellow, no head, next to zero carbonation. Ordered it for my wife and she took one sip and was done. Seemed undercarbed to me, almost flat. Tasted like a stale wheat beer. Not sure what they're shooting for here but it was lost one me. This was pretty bad, like a really old can of Grain Belt I stole from the ol' man's fridge 20 years ago.

Served a brownish amber in color with a thin off white head. Grainy aroma with some mild sweetness to it. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with a nice crispness to it. Hearty grainy flavor from the barley. Malt seems to have a light sweetness to it. Wild rice adds a nuttiness to the flavor midway through. Flavors of barley and grain return in the finish and linger in the back of the throat. This is a really satisfying and unique amber lager. Definitely worth trying out.

Lightly brown color, served with no head.
Smell is quite unsual, reminds me of honey and nuts. Taste is sweet, honeyish malt. This lager is more about it's sweet malt and nuttiness, with very little hop character. If you are after something a bit sweet and unsual, this is a nice one.

Lovely amber color shades the glass, decorated by a fine helping of creamy foam on top. Aroma: soft, fresh, sweet and malty, hints herbs and nuts, quite pleasing.
Taste: clean, crisp, but refreshingly flavorful, malt is rich and sweet, and the rice imparts a snappy little kick on the palate. Light bodied, with a short, but sweet finish. Hangs around the palate spreading flavor around, before exiting out the back.
Very, very easy drinkability, the bottle was drained in no-time, and I'd call this one a prime candidate for a session lager.
An appealing brew, from a brewery I'd never heard of before...thanks again go to jeffboo!

NIce cherrywood amber color with a small ,white head. Grainy malt aromas with a touch of smokiness. Medium body- some chewy malt flavors and a dry, nutty, toasty finish. Not that many wild rice beers on the shelf anymore (the Upper Midwest used to have a handfull about 10 years ago). The rice seems to give a light rye-ish spiciness that works here in an amber. Found here in the wild rice's native habitat in the North MIdwest. A unique flavor worth trying.

Color is of a clear light rusty brown, thin off-white head that disappears as quickly as it grows which was lightning quick. Very minimal specks of lace sticks. Smell isn't much with some soft caramel, dulled fruit sweetness, and the wild rice softly sits within.
Taste has a nice mellow wild rice twinge with slight grass tones and dulled sweet malts. Good body tone and length with a drying slight grassy finish. Feel is close to medium with a nice smooth character and slight dry finish coming through late. A fine little drinker. Thanks jeffboo.
