This brew pours a clear brown color with a reddish tint. The head is a thin layer of foam that disappears into nothing within seconds. It is not quite what I expected from a beer named Swede Saw Red, but for a brown ale it doesn't look too bad. The aroma is sweet with some caramel tones, but very generic. Generic in that, although it isn't horrible, I have had dozens of beers that smelled just like this one. The taste is almost that of a brown ale. Almost, but then is stops and becomes watery. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, yet watery at the same time. Overall, this won't be something that I will drink again.

Clear bright amber, head is somewhat refuge but there are residual incomplete ring laces. A standard malty nose, mid pack brown sugar in overall character. Like some other LogJam brews, the carbonation is suspect and weak, a little watery out of the gate. Not being a fan of lots of carbonation, it takes something for me to miss it in most beers. The overall flavor has some biscuity qualities with an OK herbal hop balance. Finish is hurt by distilled water properties. I feel like I'm missing out on this beers potential (such as on tap), I still think the folks at LogJam are a little inexperienced at bottling.

This one looks the part. Nice scarlet red hue. Clarity is good. Thin beige head that recedes to a nice looking collar. Lacing is adequate. Nice aroma. Fresh and malty. Carmelized sugars. And a spattering of herbal hop tones. A little thinnish in the mouth for an amber. Body's about light-medium. Carbonation is on the low side, but this is not flat tasting. It just imparts a nice creamy mouthfeel. The flavor is based in the caramel malts with a little biscuity flavor as well. Hops seem only present for balance, as they impart little to the flavor or bittering aspects of this brew. Residual sugary taste on the tongue after swallowing. This is an above average amber.

Appearance: dark crimson color, nearing brown, with a creamy tannish head that dies down quick. Aroma: notes of caramel, and coppery, but a touch too flinty. Taste is fine, but unspectacular. Low hops, good, solid malt, and overall medium-bodied. Quite easy to drink, but not much of a challenge, and too skimpy on flavor. Seems to carry all of the earmarks of a classic Irsih Red ale, if that was their aim. Nice, lasting, flavorful finish.
