12oz. bottle into Troegs Hopback glass on 10/18/10.

A - Gritty looking pale golden body with the slightest light green tint, lots of floating particles suspended within and a thin white bubbly head that quickly diminished to a thin ring of retention and some spotty lacing around the edge of the glass.

S - Barnyard and basement notes are at the forefront and suggest wet hay, musty earth and cement. Slight citrus and spicy yeast notes emerge from underneath the funk as well. Very nice saison nose overall.

T - Flavor is quite complex, actually. You've got the requisite funky barnyard notes with the aforementioned wet hay and musty aspects, but there is also a slight citrus and earthy hop presence. Then there's the lightly toasted grainy malt character of a Belgian Witbier. Finishes with earthy bitter notes and a moderate sour aspect. You know what? I am digging this brew!

M - Light bodied with bristly effervescence and a watery (not to be confused with thin) texture. Slightly bitter and mildly sour on the palate with a hint of sweetness.

D - This is a light and drinkable Belgian-style ale that's complex to boot and remains refreshing throughout. This was a great introduction to this brewery and I will definitely seek out more stuff next time I find myself in Wisconsin.

This is a 12oz. can labeled 6.5 ABV, from my good friend Kevin. This was left behind after a Bluegill fry. The Ale pours a slightly hazy straw yellow with one inch of pure whit foam. The foam slowly receded leaving very little lacing behind and a quarter inch cap. There is a light amount of carbonation that is noticeable.
The aroma is wheat and yeast.
This is in the witbier category, it should be labeled that way also. The flavor is wheat, light citrus , slightly sweet banana, and finishing with a crisp, bitter, spicy finish.
This Ale looks good, smells OK, after that, it just was not what I was looking for. It seems more bitter than many of the witbiers that I enjoy.

Described as a farmhouse ale and was hoping for a saison but it's definitely a wit.

A: pale yellow color, nice creamy head
S: medium nose, grassy, spicy, good balance, has a tinge of saison in nose
T: a little bit on the lighter side but it is a wit, well-balanced, refreshing with nice graininess and spices, pales in grittiness and spices compared to some other wits
M: easy drinking and thirst quenching

Poured from a bottle into a tulip. It pours a clear straw/yellow color with a 1.5 inch basically white head that slowly reduces leaving a fluffy full-coverage lacing. Carbonation is visible.

The aroma is a blend of lemon zest and grass with some coriander notes. A few earthy and spicy hints are noted.

The taste is a bit weak, given the nice nose. Lemon is again most prominent to me with a bit of yeast and some coriander and pepper notes again come through.

The mouthfeel is light bodied and the flavor comes across somewhat thin. Carbonation is frothy and subdued. Mildly dry finish.

This beer is reasonable overall. I think it is somewhat easier to drink due to the weakness in taste and would be better with a bit more kick and a stronger overall feel.

Reviewed from notes.

Poured into a tulip glass. The color is a yellow-gold with a huge white head and quite a bit of sticky lacing as the beer goes down. The nose is nice with a bit of light spicing plus some citrus and floral notes. The taste is really nice with a bit of light pepper and spice. Light lemon. Good feel with nice carbonation and a good body. Drinks well enough, but not at the top of the style.

Thanks to eyncognito for this 12 oz bottle. With a name like this, shouldn't it be a saison?

A: The witbier is clear, bright and translucent. The clarity accentuates the steady stream of bubbles rising from the nucleation site. Golden yellow, moderately pale, best describes it. A small head, genereally is unremarkable.

S: The nose is tart, refreshingly so, thanks to the wheat. Coriander and curacao are in strong supply as well, a sweet complement to the tartness.

T: Peppery coriander is much stronger, at least up front, than the nose lets on. The short blast is followed by wheat and barley. I specifically mentioned the barley because the wheat tartness doesn't stand out as much as in the nose. Fruits, citrus in particular, linger around with orange and lemon standing out. The witbier leaves a dry, grainy finish that is redeemed only by the spritzy carbonation.

M: The pepper and fruit starts things off well but the witbier doesn't hold up well. The wheat disappears into barley and the spices never come to the forefront.

D: The carbonation works but I struggle to stick with the rest of the flavor profile.

Thanks to hopdog for the trade...
Appears a hazy light gold with steady streams of carbonation pumping towards the top of the glass. A foamy white head of fluff slowly collapses. Scattered bits of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of lemon, pumelo, vanilla, chamomile, basil, orange, and light cardamom.
Taste is of the aromas with Dried apricots, poached pears, and an interesting, lightly tart flavor with a touch of key limes.
Mouthfeel is semi sweet, with orangepeel resounding, spritzy, and dry in the finish.

12 oz bottle into a tumbler.

Pours a cloudy gold (lot of suspended solids here) with a solid finger of brite-white foamy head. Mostly retains around the edges, leaving a smattering of frothy lace behind. The aroma is sweet and fruity with spice and yeast giving this a very zest feel in the nose.

The sweetness in the taste has more more of a gentleness to it, with a light toasted feel and a rich amount of more soft fruit character, like apricot, pear, and orange. Yeast is more subdued in the flavor profile, mostly showing up with spice in the finish to give off a hearty dryness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with not a lot of crispness to it but more of a softer bubbly feel.

This was a bit odd, as it come off as more of a Saison-Wit hybrid with its' relatively strong yeast profile. The rich fruitiness of this though is what made it for me and kept this interesting and drinkable.

Not bad, not bad. Poured with a huge frothy, foamy off white head and some lace. Color is a slightly hazy amber. Aroma is mild and a bit spicy, malty, yeasty. Flavor's the same but with a bit of home brew flavor and more accent on spice and yeast. Body is soft and carbonation is ok. Personally prefer a less soft belgian style farmhouse/wit. Finish is ok. Again personally, not a session for me, but maybe for some.

Hazy golden yellow with a half inch of bone white head on top. Fizzy bubbles. Aromas of spicy lemon-lime and light sun dried malts. Somewhat earthy with a touch of sourness. Yeasty undertone.

First sip is crisp light malts met by lemon and lime zest and a mellow spiciness. Earthy yeast accents along with a tart twang. Mild funkiness on the way down. Mellow overall but quite tasty.

Light and easy drinking. Would be a good summer brew on the beach for sure. Not gonna blow you away with complexity but a nice Belgian style farmhouse ale overall. Worth a try for sure.

Pours a hazy, golden color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Slight retention and poor lacing. Smells of tart malt, yeast, slight citrus, and slight hops. This fits the style of a Farmhouse Ale (mistakenly labeled as a Witbier). Mouth feel is smooth and crisp with an average carbonation level. Tastes of tart malt, yeast, slight citrus, hops, and slight acidity. Overall, a good blend, body, and aroma.

Pours a clouded yellow with an orange/gold hue. Thinner white head in my goblet. Nose is soapy and lemon when cold. Leather is more prevalent after warming. Flavor is better after warming for a few minutes. Tangy citrus tones don't overdo it and the funky yeast tones are quite noticeable, but not overpowering or overdone. Becomes more even and subdued warmer also. Feel is a bit thicker on liquid than normal I think. Nice to drink. More of a sipper.

12 oz bottle poured into a globe glass.
A- Typical amber color with a great deal of dark floating sediment. The most I have seen in a beer.
S- light spicy aroma
T- a somewhat mild spicy/cinnamon/clove flavor, with a bit of an odd flat aftertaste
M- While there was much sediment to see, it was not noticeable while drinking
D- Definitley good for a few

A- Cloudy straw yellow, one finger head.

S- Camilmille, with light hints of citrus and corriander.

T- Wonderfully bready and silky maltyness. This quickly takes a backseat to an assertive yet light on the palate blend of citrusy spices. Finishes crisp and inviting.

M- Light and crisp with a nice amount of carbonation.

D- For a Wit, this is tops.

I'm not a huge Wit fan but this is worth taking notice.
