I now find myself in Brooklyn at a rather mysterious place called Spuyten Duyvil, known to some of the locals as the Red Bar, due to the fact that the name of the bar is well-hidden, and even if it wasn't it wouldn't do you much good. In fact, it took a conference of three people behind the bar to get the name for me. I like this place, and I think that the attractive female bartender is flirting with my girlfriend. I love this place.
Right, right, the beer. OK. Reddish copper with a dreamy head. Wispy, cloudy. Smell is rich, not incredibly descript, but contains subtle caramel notes. Taste is a wow, big, bold, robust. Smooth caramel malt with traces of sour fruit and a fuggles finish. Mouthfeel is excellent, smooth, creamy, refreshing, no stickiness to speak of.
Drinkability?? Superb! Bartender...
