Eureka B&T pours an odd brown-creme color and setles to a light borwn body with a long-lasting off-white head. It's smell is semi-sweet with more malt character than hop note. This beer starts slightly bitter with a vaguely pleasant taste. It has a somewhat abrasive texture that fades quickly in a medium body. It is characterized by extensive malt smoothness and a conspicous lack of the flavor/mouthfeel dicotomy that one expects from a black and tan. It's finish is silky and fairly clean with a residual oat flavor that is the first clear indication that this beer is actually a black and tan, not a pale ale. in summary, i suppose this wasn't a bad beer in and of itself, but it didn't meet my expectations as a black and tan. i doubt i'll ever buy it again.

Light brown with a light amber hue and a low beige head, decent carbonation, and no lace. Malty sweet aroma with a touch of honey on the nose. Flavor is all malt and a bit too sweet... a light flavored bock beer. Light-medium bodied and too sweet to want more than one at a time.

This beer looks good; I'll give it that. It pours a clear tan color, about the likeness of a glass of strong iced tea. The head exceeded expectation. It was actually fairly attractive. It hung around for a while and did a beautiful job of lacing the sides.
The smell and taste were a different story. There is a weird indiscernible smell very present. Diacetyl? Kind of buttery and a smell and taste of potato. Oddly enough there were no chive smells present. The taste was similar, but with a malty-dryness.
This one's all right, I wouldn't buy it again, but I would drink it if free.
