Although the label proclaims "Scottish Red Ale", its color is, in fact, a sort of neon orange, odd looking at the least. The small white head quickly faded to scattered patches of foam; well carbonated with poor lacing. The aroma is peculiar, malt with sweet orange notes. Tasting yields stinging carbonation, very watery malt, sharply bitter hops and a heavy-handed, sugary sweetness. The mouth feel is decidedly poor. This is certainly one of the worst beers that I have ever had - this from someone who tries to find something good in every beer. Truly merits being poured down the drain.
Package reviewed was a 16-ounce custom brown glass twist-off. ABV is 5.2%.

OK - This more of a near beer in the fact that it looks like beer but that is as close as it gets to beer - Though it is still much better than Bud. This pours a light copper color with a non-existent nose. The flavor is a bitter hops that are poorly balanced and off in the flavors. The malt is very week witha sugary undertones. There is no aftertaste to make note of either. This is another member of the "Best Beers of the World" 12 pack - These people are some seriously deceptive marketers.

Part of the "12 Greatest Brews of the World" sampler pack found at my local Wal-Mart. This is the most blatant case of false advertising I have seen since Budweiser first tried to convince us that drinking their beer would give you rock hard abs and a bikini-model girlfriend. Let's start with the fact that the beer isn't even RED. It's orange. Not even reddish-orange, just orange. I am guessing it might not really be from Scotland either. Anyway the aroma has a little malt and caramel going for it, as does the flavor, but overall it is woefully thin and flavorless.
