Pours a orange tinted gold that is clear. The head is white, thin and short lived, though longer than the others in the alleged 'Best beer of the world" pack. The nose is mild sweet/tart malt. The flavor is tart and dry with bland malt undertone. The hops are weak and flat as well. The sad thing is this is one of the better of the 12 pack.

Hazy golden-orange color with a rather small off-white head that quickly fades to a few scattered patches of foam. Rather slight carbonation with surprisingly good lace - considering the poor head retention. Aroma is somewhat sweet, with hints of caramel, although not like what I expect a Bock to be. Taste begins with just a hint of carbonation, followed by a bit of caramel and coffee flavors and then grain flavors. Finish is dry and mildly bitter. Not like any Bock I have ever had, nor any Helles Bock. In all fairness, this beer improves a bit as it warms. Overall, OK, but not a beer I would seek out.
Package reviewed was a 16-ounce custom brown glass twist-off. ABV is 6.0%.

Part of the "12 Greatest Brews of the World" sampler pack found at my local Wal-Mart. Like every other beer so far in this sampler, it is orange and sour. I defy correctly identify any of the beers I have tried so far. They all look at taste the same, they just have different labels. What the hell is a Bavarian Bock anyway?
