Pours a murky deep brown in color with a miniscule off-white head, really just a dusting of foam, fair broken lace, and slight carbonation. Aroma consists of sweet malt with faint coffee notes. Taste begins with rather watery toasted malt flavors, very thin and insubstantial, towards the finish a weak bitter coffee flavor appears. Finish is fairly dry. The mouth feel is rather watery. Not terrible, but not very good, either. Certainly this beer is far removed from Stout.

Package reviewed was a 16-ounce custom brown glass twist-off. ABV is 6.2%.

I don't care what the label says this is not a stout. This more of an english amber ale. That said is has a weak head. The color is a definate dark amber. The nose is almost pure malt. The flavor is malty and hopy with with a moderately clean finish. The mouthfeel is unremarkable and watery.

Part of the "12 Greatest Brews of the World" sampler pack found at my local Wal-Mart. This beer is just inexcusable. It looks, smells, and tastes nothing like a Stout. It pours a dark amber color and has the same flavor and aroma as every other beer in this set. Horrid.
